At present we Algebrators are steeped in the world of exponential functions - disease propagation, credit card debt, and the like - chapter 7.  The Team/Practice Test will take place on the 23rd/24th of February, while the Individual Test will be on March 1st/2nd.

Students can still retake the chapter 6 test up until Friday, February 24th.

Up next: Chapter 8 - Quadratic functions are applied to real world situations in order to solve problems in various fields such as science, business, and engineering.

The content and concepts in the Algebra 1 course build upon themselves.  As such, and generally speaking, students have better access to and experience greater success with the current material if they have mastered the previous material.  Students who are struggling with current material should be proactive and get assistance to fill in missing gaps in their learning as it will hinder their ability to attend to current content.

Maintaining an elevated focus in class, doing high quality homework and meaningful corrections, getting assistance in class as well as assisting others, and getting help during A+ and Advisory periods are all useful strategies in order to be successful in Algebra.

Stay focused, work hard, get help!

The chapter 6 test is scheduled for Monday/Tuesday, January 30th/31st.

Up next: Chapter 7 - Exponential Functions.  Among other things, we’ll look at the rate at which diseases spread.  Always good dinner conversation.
